Cybercrime has surpassed the global illegal drug trade in terms of profitability. Because of their profitability and low risk, there is a need for effective education and training in critical infrastructure security, whether it is a financial institution’s databases or a nuclear power plant. An ethical hacker is the best person to secure these systems.
This course is designed to teach students the fundamentals of hacking and help them become ethical hackers. The course focuses on the code of conduct and the ethics of system exploitation. The course also teaches the mindset of a criminal hacker as well as the hacker’s evolution. Students are also given a basic understanding and training on the elements of compromising computer systems in order to protect them specifically from criminals. The course makes a very clear distinction between criminal hacking and ethical hacking and only teaches the latter. The course then focuses on some system defense fundamentals, including configurations and software to prevent unauthorized system access.
